it’s complete chaos right now…
I don’t know about you but I’m already in line for the vacation that happens after Christmas break.
I’m still spinning from November coming in a like a whirling dervish and then leaving just as quickly.
Don’t get me wrong, I adored November. I love November. Looking forward into December has me feeling like a deer caught in the headlights though. The girls are already tired of waiting for me to put up Christmas! (Come on Mom! It’s already December 2nd…oh, wait is it the 3rd already? I don’t know. Whatever it is..it’s been too long.)
I’ve let the laundry go too long and those 792 random messes I tweeted about the other night? Ummm…they’ve morphed. Not sure what their numbers are at this point…
And so…for our date we went to dinner and we talked plans. Big ones and small ones. What’s going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.
Sometimes you need that. And only that.
To just get on the same page together.
Bring some paper.
Write stuff down. Let it flow from your pen.
Look at it. Change it.
Rearrange it.
So tonight…take a deep breath. Eat somewhere delicious (if you live in the York/Clover/Rock Hill, SC area I recommend Garden Cafe. Yum. And so relaxed you could sit all night and chat and they wouldn’t care. There’s even live music that plays. Last week it was a perfect background.)
Look at each other. Make plans together. Be grateful for someone to spill your guts to and someone that brings dreams to the table.
That’s it. Nothing else. Just eating. Talking. Writing. Real stuff.
Happiness,
Davina

Great post, Davina! Getting everything down on a sheet of paper and out of your head will allow you to breathe once again 🙂
It really does! I think it also helps to be able to discuss fears about the future, make plans in little steps for things that feel really big, and live more in the now with my family. Thanks for coming to visit here, Luke and Cat! 🙂
