Family Night Fun: MLK Day

I have a dream…

Today is Martin Luther King day.

Some ways to celebrate:

*Find a way to serve in your community

*Pick up trash, plant a tree, help at a soup kitchen

*Read Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech

*Research his life.  Here’s a place to start.

*Talk about the phrase, “If not now, when?”

*Read about Rosa Parks

*Join one of the many marches that are happening today around the country

*Discuss how the talents in your family can help the community and what each of you will do to contribute

*It’s Black History Month: choose one person to study each week.  Start here.

*Choose one way each month this year that you will help make the world a better place

Have a great MLK Day!

These are really good ideas Davina. I didn’t see it until today, but think I do something on the list.
