ode to summertime.
Oh! How I miss you, sweet summertime.
The freedom of fort sleepovers {1} in the living room make my heart skip a beat.
I know an ode should be short but I can’t help it sweet summer.
I want to sing your praises today.
There were the days of swimming in the fancy pool {2} with goggles and floaties that make me want to have you back.
And where are the beautiful and tasty tomatoes {3} from the garden? I love them so.
Trips to the creek {4} with the people I love most in the early morning hours are calling my name.
Breakfast in random places {5} are missed now that we can sit in darkness before grabbing backpacks and lunchboxes.
And Cocoa misses you too when all of her kid friends were around to play and bathe {6} her (well, Cocoa might not miss that last part…).
Where have you gone dear late nights of swimming {7}? I miss you so.
Date nights in the forest {8} were so fun when it was toasty warm (except for the dripping sweat part).
Leisurely weekday trips to the library {9}, you taunt me with your 10 months of teasing.
Evening bike rides {10} when it’s still light and the sun is still bright at 9pm, oh please return to me.
Dear Lemony {11}, we finished your series and we so miss our adventures with biting Sunny, inventive Violet, and super smart Claus. We finally made it out of the Vile Village, slid down the Slippery Slope, and hobbled from the Grim Grotto with you, dear misfortunate friend.
And sweet, dear, happy, lovely (and sometimes crazy) morning adventures {12} I miss you most of all.
oh how I love thee. let me count the ways.
*Monday a new Familyness Project hits the blog! Make sure to come back…**
