Frequently asked Flirting Questions (or FAFQs).
1. But if I flirt, isn’t my husband going to want me ALL. THE. TIME.? I have stuff to do, the kids are hanging all over me, and I have throw up in my hair.
I read recently (wish I could find the reference now) that you’re not flirting enough with your husband if with one little flirtation he thinks you’re ready to head upstairs.
Friendly flirting with your spouse is fun. If you’re both engaging in flirting with one another then neither of you is going to think that one little flirt is going to land you in bed.
Flirting with each other makes life together more fun and playful. You start to have more fun with private jokes, you look for reasons to be cheesy just so you can tell them how awesome they are, and it makes you feel very clever…which makes you feel sexy. Seriously.
2. Every time I try to flirt with my wife I see in her eyes that she’s asking,
“What does this mean? If I respond to his flirt, is he going to think we’re heading upstairs?”
Instead of flirting with me back; she gives me the cold shoulder. So I just don’t flirt.
If your wife thinks that your flirty comment means you’re ready to take her upstairs, then you’re not flirting enough without insinuating that you think it’s time to head to the bedroom.
Go ahead and flirt. And don’t look at her with expectant puppy eyes. Just throw it out there and keep going with your day. When you send her a couple of flirty/sexy texts don’t walk in the door while she’s making dinner (and simultaneously helping your third child with their homework) and make hand motions to her like, “Meet me upstairs.” Instead, walk over to her while she’s standing at the sink, whisper in her ear, “I love how blue your eyes are today.”
Then sit down and help your third child with their homework or start cutting potatoes.
When you’re married, flirting can feel a little more complicated. Life is busy-er, kids are in your hip pocket, you’ve got to run to carpool, dinner needs to be made. It gets pretty crazy…and stressful.
Let flirting with your spouse be the playfulness you’ve been missing.
Trust me. It’s awesome. 😉
Have you gotten your 3 flirts in today? (Once you get started it’s totally addicting. You may not be able to stop at three.)

LOL, Oh Davina, I loved the first question. It made me giggle because it’s so true. Marriage is so funny sometimes 🙂 I just love this project that you are doing. I read every post and try very hard. You are such an inspiration!
I agree Mandy that this is a fun project! I’ve enjoyed the fun and hope you’ll stick with it even if some weeks are more crazy than others. I know we’re gonna have some weeks when life happens and we want to scrap the adventures, but we’ll keep at it! Thanks for commenting!
