A little fun together…
Miriam asked for a tennis racket for Christmas…mostly because she wanted to get to go over to the tennis court with her Dad. They had played several times together with a racket that bled black ashy stuff onto your hand every time you touched it. With a new racket she was guaranteed some fun court time and coming home with clean hands [that last bit is probably not guaranteed…dirt finds Miriam].
A game of tennis between Mike and Miriam is pretty relaxed. They try to get a volley going…maybe 4 times across the net. This may happen 4-5 times and in between is a lot of missed serves, balls that get powered over the fence and into a jungle of grass never to be seen again, laughing, and aiming straight into the net.
The best part is just being together.
And they made up games:
After the attempt at tennis has been given a good go it’s time to see how hard and far they can each hit a tennis ball into the adjacent field. The distances would make any tennis teacher proud.
There are lots of ways to play tennis.
This way is Miriam’s favorite version of tennis: With Dad.
