are the fish biting?
Tonight is the perfect night for fishing. If you have fishing gear gather it up and head to a nice, secluded fishing hole. If you don’t have fishing gear or have never been fishing…there’s no better time like the present, right? Contact one of your avid fishing friends and ask them to borrow their gear and give you a couple of quick tips.
Go fishing with the intention of just enjoying nature and the quiet time you get to spend with each other. Catching an actual fish will be a bonus. The chance to relax and be together is the real fun.
Try to keep talk of kids, work, and school at bay.
Here are some conversation starters to help you steer away from the usual:
What was your favorite thing I did for you this week?
Tell me your happiest memory since the day we met.
If you could do anything and not have to worry about boundaries, getting in trouble, or responsibility, what would you do?
If you had to choose between living on an island or living in the mountains for the rest of your life, which would you pick?
What have you wanted to share with me for a while but not felt like the time was right?
What do you hope our life is like together in 10 years?
What did we used to do that you wish we would do again?
What have we never done that you would like for us to do?
Practice who can give the other the cheesiest pick up line.
Take turns flirting see who can win the Biggest Flirt award (once you get started on this it will keep you laughing the rest of the night)
Date night is a perfect time for you to relax, let your guard down, connect with the one you love, and play. Being playful together brings about a surprising amount of closeness. Tell each other jokes, think of the funniest thing that happened this week and tell the story, play chase, have a foot race.
Once a week, Mike and I love to get to talk without interruption, hear about our week, laugh, and really see each other. Sometimes, through out the week things get crazy with 4 kids to manage amidst the other 100 crazy things we encounter. Knowing that we have made each other and exclusive time together consistently reminds us that our marriage is our priority.
I love dating Mike!
